Forget 8 Mile and Eminem, King Of The Mic competition returns next month to find the best rapper in Berkshire and Surrey. Last year's competition saw Lex Jones, from Slough, crowned the winner. The 25-year-old won £150 and a chance to work closely with producers Raw Linx, producing a music video and recording an EP.

The competition, then in its first year, kickstarted the young rapper's career and his debut single Ever Had That Feeling is now available to download on iTunes. This year the competition will be at South Hill Park, on Thursday, December 9, from 8-11pm.

Organiser Sanjay Limbachya said: " An arts centre like South Hill Park is neutral. I didn't want the competition to be seen as a hip hop club night.

"This year we're looking for someone with lyrical control. The lyrics have to be relevant. I don't want it to be just ghetto
