DON'T forget! Scritti Politti will play at The Firestation, Windsor on Friday, November 23. The band, which formed as a left-wing-inspired post-punk group and rose to fame writing pop music in the 80s, returned to the live circuit this year after a four-year hiatus.
They are now comprised of founding member Green Gartside, accompanied by Dicky Moore, Rhodri Marsden, and Hot Chip's Rob Smoughton. Following an acclaimed performance at Green Man festival in August, they are staging a series of one-off shows around the country.

THE acclaimed Tamesis Chamber Choir, from Reading, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a concert at Greyfriars Church, Friar Street, on Saturday, from 7.30pm. The concert programme will be made up of the most popular pieces voted for by the choir and its fans, and will include a selection of anthems, part songs, lullabies and folk songs. SEA shanties from some of the finest folk singers will be performed from 8pm at the Nettlebed Folk Club, near Henley, on Monday.
Award-winning fiddle player Jackie Oates, American multi-instrumentalist Jeff Warner, Derbyshire concertina player Keith Kendrick, Hampshire producer Doug Bailey, and West Country experts Tom and Barbara Brown join forces to present the shanties of John Short of Watchet, Somerset.
During the American Civil War, John Short was a shantyman on deep-water ships for some 20 years before returning to work in the South West coastal trade.
A collection of Short's shanties were recently recorded by Tom and Barbara Brown, in conjuntion with Doug Bailey of WildGoose Records, which has been greeted with critical acclaim. Tickets are £12 and available on 01628 636620 or at www.nettlebedfolkclub.co.uk
FOLLOWING their success with critically acclaimed The Dumb Waiter, Reading Repertory Theatre has announced its packed inaugural season.
It begins in December with a new adaptation of A Christmas Carol, from December 24-January 2, followed by Strindberg's 19th century classic Miss Julie, from April 1-12, and finishes with John Osbourne's Look Back in Anger, from July 22-August 2.
Artistic director Paul Stacey said: "This inaugural season will give us the chance to cement our place as a major new producing house in the South East.. It's an amazing position to be in and stands as testament to Reading's appetite for great theatre - Reading Rep is only responding to audience demand."
Reading Rep is in residency at Reading College's performing arts centre, giving it a flexible 60-seat studio space just 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The season has been supported by Reading Borough Council, the National Lottery, and Reading College, allowing the theatre to offer tickets to all their shows for only £10 each.
