The 17-year-old star was part of the three-strong squad which finished top of the pile in Spain.

The combined scores of Hill, Elena Allen and Sarah Gray in the individual skeet event were enough to clinch the gold ahead of Slovakia in second and USA in third.

Hill had to settle for eighth place in the women’s skeet semi-final shoot-out on Monday.

She hit 24 out of 25 targets in each of her three rounds, but that was not enough to secure a place in the gold medal match in an illustrious field of competitors.

Hill’s Great Britain team-mate, Allen, did qualify for the gold medal match where she lost to Brandy Drozd of the USA by a single score which was enough to secure her a place at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

However, Allen’s performance alongside that of Hill and Gray was enough to win the gold for GB in the team event.

Hill will take great confidence from the GB team’s victory in Granada after she failed to reach the Commonwealth Games skeet final in Glasgow earlier this summer while representing Team England.

However, Hill remains one of the top names in the sport after becoming the British No.1.

She remains the youngest person to ever win a women’s World Cup skeet event and shares a world record after shooting 74 out of 75 in a competition in Peru this season.

Hill’s success at shooting has earned her a number of sponsorship deals and she is now on the books of Mission Sports Management’s world-class athlete roster.
