BINFIELD shooter Amber Hill is one of just three athletes in the UK to have been shortlisted for SportsAid's prestigious One-to-Watch Award which will be presented by the charity’s Patron, Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge, at its SportsBallTM on November 28.

The 16-year-old is already the senior British number one and ranked fifth in the world.

She smashed the junior world record earlier this year with a score that was equal to the senior world record and is the youngest athlete to have won a world cup final in the history of the sport.

Amber’s nomination for the award comes in recognition of her exceptional performances and her incredible commitment and potential as one of the brightest prospects to be supported by SportsAid this year.

She was chosen above more than 1,300 other SportsAid athletes throughout the UK.

“It’s an amazing feeling being nominated for the One-to-Watch Award and to think people have been following and recognising my progress and achievement throughout this year,” she said.

“SportsAid have been a massive help this year in helping me to reach my goals and have helped start me on the road to the Rio 2016 Olympics which is my main aim in my sporting career.”

The judging panel that shortlisted Amber included experts from BBC Sport, UK Sport, Sport England, the British Olympic Association, the English Institute of Sport and SportsAid.

When the winner is announced on November 28 it will be the first time that the Duchess of Cambridge has presented the One-to-Watch Award since becoming SportsAid's Patron earlier this year.

Previous winners include diver Tom Daley and sprinter Sally Brown.
