  • Wokingham Ladies defeated Windsor & Eton 50-45 in a friendly with a top triple of Jill Thorne (skip), Vi Hales-Owen and Dora James, winning by eight shots. But Wokingham Ladies also lost 35-23 in a friendly at Prospect Park.
  • Wokingham won 99-67 at Twyford in a mixed friendly where there were wins for Gerry Deeves 21, Barry Wooley and Terry Oakes. The mixed team also drew 68-68 at Fleet United in a friendly thanks to wins for Bob Thompson and Sandra Thompson.

Great Hollands.

Great Hollands Ladies defeated Windsor & Eton in the ‘Top Club’ competition, winning three and drawing one rink.

Jo Sanders won the singles, Carolyn Lofthouse and Jose Chippendale the pairs and Lorraine Capon, Karen Chapman, Olive Bambury and Rita Littleford the fours. Rita Hills, Sheila Stickland and Sheila Lee drew the triples.

  • In the Thames Valley League, Great Hollands Linnets lost their first match of the season to Island Bohemian.

In the Kennet League, the men beat Maiden Erlegh 79-71 for a 11-3 points win.

The KLV A team lost 68-41 to Suttons an 8-2 points defeat.

The B team also lost 58-39 to Suttons for a 10-0 points defeat, while the C team lost 80-28 to Crowthorne British Legion for another 10-0 points defeat.

Sunningdale

Sunningdale Ladies were winning 44-42 at Great Hollands when the friendly was rained off after 10 ends.

Highest scoring rink for Sunningdale was Janet Spencer, Sheila Sparks and Pam Kiddell (skip).

In the Thames Valley Ladies League, Sunningdale lost 55-40 at Burghfield for an 8-2 points defeat. Winning rink for Sunningdale was Sheila Sparks, Janet spencer and Gill Dickson (skip).

In the Kennet League, Sunningdale defeated Desborough B 101-58 at home for a 12-2 points win.

In the KLV division, Sunningdale A won 62-40 at Royal Household for an 8-2 points victory with a highest scoring rink of Peter Sparks, Brian Munden and Brian Webb (skip).

Sunningdale B lost 62-49 at home to Maidenhead Thicket for a 6-4 points defeat. Highest scoring rink for Sunningdale was Gary Eggleton, Dale Spencer and John Turner (skip).
