SOUTH Berkshire Ladies suffered a disappointing 4-0 defeat at home to high-flying Slough 2nds on their return to Trysports Three Counties League Premier One action, writes Richard Ashton.
The results means South Berks drop to fifth in the table ahead of a tough trip to third-placed Wallingford this coming Saturday (2.45pm).
South Berkshire 2nds remain one place and five points clear of the Premier Two relegation zone following a 2-0 reverse at Aylesbury, while in Division Three, South Berkshire 3rds stay second-bottom after a 2-1 loss at Newbury & Thatcham 3rds.
Runaway leaders South Berkshire 4ths remain eight points clear at the top of Division Five following a hard-fought 1-0 home win against Newbury & Thatcham 4ths.
Ravi Patel was on target for South Berkshire men, but they were beaten 2-1 at home to Newbury & Thatcham in MBBO Regional Two, Luke Barrington’s brace proving pivotal for the visitors.
Eighth-placed South Berkshire visit Aylesbury on Saturday (1.30pm).
South Berkshire 2nds remain in relegation trouble in MBBO Division Two after they were edged out 3-2 at Wootton Wanderers. Paul Kaplanski and Sean Hardingham were on target for the Birch Hill Recreation Ground-based side, but goals from Alex Blunt, PJ Smith and Lee Tozer ensured the hosts took all three points.
In Division Three, South Berkshire 3rds fell victim to a Gavin Kelly hat-trick in a 3-0 home defeat to West Hampstead 4ths.
South Berkshire 5ths thrashed Eastcote 6ths 6-0 in Division Eight East, while South Berkshire Terriers dropped to third in the Division Eight West table following a 3-1 home loss to Henley 4ths.
