South Berkshire 5ths dropped to eighth in Division Eight East after home side West Hampstead 8ths leapfrogged them following a 4-3 win.

The visitors took the lead shortly before half time, when a well-worked short corner was only partly cleared.

Captain Rick Lee, picking up the loose ball, fired it back across goal for Adrian Tang to bundle home and make it 1-0.

West Hampstead improved after the break, though, and surged into a 3-1 lead after netting two short corners and a goal from open play.

The comeback began, though, when the away side scored from a well-worked short corner routine, orchestrated by Peter Bailey, who received the ball on the edge of the D before shifting it smartly to top goalscorer, Luke Hadley, to slide the ball past the goalkeeper.

With minutes remaining, South Berks thought they had earned a point when Tang broke through midfield and found Lee in space to drive into the D and smash the ball home for his first goal of the season.

However, they were stunned in the final minute when a deflected goal gave West Hampstead the win.
