SOUTH Berkshire men endured a miserable day at the office as they were thumped 9-1 by second-bottom Oxford Hawks 3rds in MBBO Regional Two, writes Richard Ashton.

The visitors suffered a shocking first half which ended with them trailing 5-0, and Oxford added another before the one positive moment came when Daniel Ray netted for South Berks.

However, Hawks added three further goals as they picked up their first points of the season in emphatic fashion.

South Berkshire do not have a game this week, returning to action the following Saturday at Sonning.

Jack Baveystock, Nathan Desmond and Tony Heaver did the damage for South Berkshire 2nds as they eased to a 3-0 home victory against Eastcote 3rds in MBBO Division Two.

In Division Three, South Berkshire 3rds shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw with Leighton Buzzard, leaving them sixth in the table.

Basement boys South Berkshire 4ths were beaten 4-1 at West Hampstead 6ths in Division Five.

South Berkshire 5ths were crushed 6-2 at leaders Amersham & Chalfont 4ths in Division Eight East, Peter Bailey scoring a penalty flick and Rowan Williams adding another from open play.

Table-topping South Berkshire Terriers extended their perfect start to the Division Eight West season to four matches with a 3-2 win against Oxford 8ths.

Second-placed South Berkshire Ladies were beaten for the first time this season in the Premier Division of the Trysports Three Counties League, going down to a 1-0 home reverse against Maidenhead 2nds.

They do not have a game this coming weekend, returning to action at home to Amersham & Chalfont on Saturday, November 4.

In Premier Division Two, South Berkshire 2nds drew 2-2 with Phoenix & Ranelagh, while in Division Three, South Berkshire 3rds went down to a 3-0 defeat at Aylesbury 3rds.

Unbeaten South Berkshire 4ths stayed top of the Division Five table with a resounding 8-1 hammering of Oxford 7ths.
