SOUTH Berkshire men geared up for their opening MBB&O Regional Two fixtures with a brace of victories last week, securing a 6-3 success against Sunbury & Walton Hawks on Saturday after defeating Camberley and Farnborough 4-1 last Thursday.

South Berks actually fell behind to Sunbury inside the opening two minutes, but they hit back almost immediately as Paul Kaplanski converted following good work from Sam Fox-Harvey.

Less than a minute later Kaplanski turned provider for Tom King to put the hosts 2-1 in front, but Sunbury hit back to level at the end of a dramatic first 10 minutes.

South Berkshire moved back in front in the 22nd minute when Rob Badley set up Ravi Patel, and the same player doubled his tally to make it 4-2 just after the half-hour mark.

The hosts moved further in front on 47 minutes when King grabbed his second, but Sunbury kept themselves in the contest by hitting the target themselves almost immediately afterwards.

However, the impressive Kaplanski rounded off the scoring to ensure a fine victory for the home side.

It was King who opened the scoring in the Camberley victory, with Dan Ray then netting following his assist to make it 2-0.

Badley set up Ray’s second as South Berks took control, although Farnborough pulled a goal back in the 26th minute.

That was as good as it got for them, though, and King completed his double to secure the win.
