WASHINDI Trampoline Club were bathed in success at the Cascais Beach Cup in Portugal recently.

It was the first time many of Washindi’s members had competed in an international event that boasted teams from as far afield as Egypt and Poland.

Washindi finished seventh in the Under 10 category thanks to impressive performances by Kofi Elhaggagi (13th), Russell Cooper (21st), Harry Slater (34) and sister Nia (37th), followed by Thomas Hue (48th).

The Crowthorne-based club had similar success in the 11-12 age category with Lauren Nield (21st), Jessica Mae Brown (22nd), Jake Bullock (39th), Angelica Xanthoulis (42nd) and Sophie Claydon (62nd).

All of Washindi’s competitors in the Open category had previous international experience with Lydia Osborn finishing 13th.

She was swiftly followed by Callum Gooding (11th) and Bethan Gill (12th) who both qualified for the finals where they finished 11th and 10th respectively.

It was an excellent effort from all 13 Washindi members and the experience of competing against international opponents will stand the club in good stead.
