SOUTH Berkshire men’s MBB&O Division One promotion hopes were dealt another blow as they were shocked 6-2 at Ramgharia, writes Richard Ashton.

Rob Badley and Daniel Ray were the visitors’ goalscorers, but doubles from Prabjot Hunjan, Narinderpal Mankoo and Parmi Soor ensure Ramgharia took all three points.

South Berkshire host OMT 2nds on Saturday.

Second-bottom South Berkshire 2nds battled bravely against high-flying Bicester, but ultimately fell to a 5-2 home defeat.

Craig Atkins got both of the South Berks goals, but Dave Sutcliffe was on fire, scoring four times for the visitors, Will Hartley adding the other.

In Division Three, South Berkshire 3rds remain third in the table and right in the promotion mix following a 2-0 victory at Wallingford 2nds. Jack Baveystock and Tom Scott were the goalscorers.

South Berkshire 4ths lost their mid-table Division Five clash 5-3 at home to South Bucks in an entertaining encounter.

Paul Kaplinski scored twice for the hosts, with Tony Heaver also on target for South Berks. However, a Paul Hayes brace and goals from James Fenton, Dan Smith and Alex Yeung ensured the points went to the away side.

South Berkshire 5ths remain rooted to the foot of Division Seven after they lost 3-1 at Eastcote 5ths, while South Berkshire Terriers were edged out 3-2 by second-placed Newbury & Thatcham 5ths in Division Eight West.

In the Trysports Three Counties League Premier One, South Berkshire Ladies were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Oxford Hawks 3rds.

Fourth-placed South Berkshire travel to Wallingford, who sit one spot below them in the table, on Saturday.

Relegation-haunted South Berkshire 2nds gave themselves a glimmer of hope of avoiding the Premier Two drop by battling to a maiden win of the season, securing a 2-1 victory at Banbury 2nds.

However, they remain nine points adrift of safety.

In Division Three, South Berkshire 3rds were crushed 9-0 by third-placed Amersham & Chalfont 3rds.
