BOXER Tom Crooks is targeting another big win in the UK’s premier boxing league this weekend, when he steps out under the bright lights of the televised Queensbury Boxing League competition.
The 19-year-old salesman from Ascot (pictured on right) will make his second appearance in the UK’s premier boxing league on Saturday after recording an impressive debut back in October, beating Kent’s Tony Hall on points.
Crooks, who trains out of the Camberley Boxing Club under the guidance of coach Charles Oliver will compete alongside some of the Queensbury’s biggest stars at the opening event of the new season, and Oliver is confident of another big win.
He said: “Tom is looking sharp in the gym and has been working harder than ever as he prepares for the show.
“He trains as hard as any boxer I’ve ever coached, and he’s been getting some amazing sparring in with some of the most experienced boxers in the gym including the pros.
“Winning his debut has really boosted his confidence, and he’s definitely stepped his training up a few gears as he gets ready for this fight.
“I think if Tom continues the way he’s going it won’t be long before he moves up the ranks in the competition, so I’m looking forward to seeing him perform.”
Crooks will compete on the undercard of the league’s No Mercy promotion at the Effingham Park Hotel in West Sussex.
