WOKINGHAM & Bearwood Riding Club won the British Riding Club’s intermediate dressage qualifier at Wellington Equestrian Centre.

WBRC sent three senior and two junior teams to compete against 22 senior and four junior squads from across the region for the winter qualifier.

Wokingham swept the board again with the senior white and blue teams placing first and second.

The junior white and blue teams followed that up by finishing first and third in their events.

WBRC also claimed the individual rider honours in the medium/advanced medium class, with all of the club’s riders in the class placed in the top six.

As a result of their success, both senior teams plus the first-placed junior team and the individual rider have qualified for the Riding Club National Winter Intermediate Championships at Bury Farm, Slapton in April.

The news caps an outstanding year for the club that saw them win the Liaison Trophy in April.

Further success followed in the National Winters Intermediate Championships where Lillie Brown took first place with Pertaco in the preliminary class.

The National Dressage Championships at Lincoln in September saw WBRC finish eighth with Sarah Thomas and Davidoff landing second place in the individual category.

WBRC also had a superb day at the Festival of the Horse Eventers Challenge Qualifier at Wheatland Farm in October where the junior 100 team (Lucas Peries, Lillie Brown, Becky Storer and Maddison Peries) qualified for the championships in 2017.

James Turner (90 section) and the senior 80 team of Claire Frankland, Kelly Robinson, Sarah Gee and Roz Gibbs also qualified.

Senior white team: Katie Neill, Tricia Smith, Amy Dale, Sarah Thomas.

Junior white team: Lucas Peries, Becky Storer, Maidson Peries, Lillie Browne.
