SOUTH Berkshire Ladies were involved in a high-scoring Trysports Three Counties League Premier 1 match on Saturday, winning 6-4 away to Oxford University 2nds.

Their sixth win in 11 games moves them up to fourth place in the table, but with four points to make up on the side immediately above them, local rivals Maidenhead 2nds.

They are 11 points adrift of unbeaten leaders Sonning going into the mid-season break. Matches resume on January 7.

South Berkshire 2nds lost 2-0 away to Newbury & Thatcham 1sts which means they have now gone 11 games without a win and are second from bottom of Premier 2 with just four points, all from draws.

In Division 3, South Berkshire 3rds lost 4-0 at home to Thame 2nds and remain ninth in the table with nine points.

The club’s 4ths also ended the first half of their campaign on a losing note, going down 3-0 to Newbury & Thatcham 3rds. They remain bottom of the table with five points.

South Berkshire men forced a 2-2 draw at Henley 2nds in the MBB&O Division 1, with goals from Rob Badley and Daniel Ray cancelling out those from home duo Dan Herbert and Jeremy Hughes-Burne.

They remain fourth in the table going into the Christmas break.

The club’s 2nds team won their bottom-of-the-table clash against West Hampstead 3rds by a 5-2 margin.

Sean Hardingham led the way with a brace, while there was a goal apiece for Alex Fox-Harvey, James Moss and Sam Pillar.

Winning for the second time, South Berks remain second from bottom but now four points better off than their fellows strugglers.

South Berks 3rds stay fourth in Division 3 despite losing 2-1 at home to West Hampstead 4ths, the side immediately below them.

The fourth team were edged out by a 3-2 margin for the second successive week, this time at West Hampstead 8ths, leaving them pointless after 11 matches.

In Division 8 West, the match between South Berkshire Terriers and Wallingford 4ths ended goalless.

MBB&O fixtures resume on January 14.
