WOKINGHAM Bowling Club member Alan Symondson has been crowned County 2 Wood champion of champions.
After winning the internal competition at Wokingham, he then defeated five other players from different clubs before beating taking a 17-10 victory in the final against Roger Goodchild of from Morland BC 17-10 in the final.
Wokingham men retained the Medcalf Trophy after sealing a 216-160 win over in their two-legged affair with Bracknell.
Wokingham led 108-79 after the first leg, and went on to win the second 108-81 at Bracknell.
The top triple for Wokingham was skipped by Pat Cleary, along with Len Cooke and Mike Hall, who won 23-12.
Wokingham Ladies won their home friendly 49-47 against Caversham. Pat Boswell led her triple to a 22-14 victory, while Joy Holmes was also successful with her triple winning 16-11. Jenni Macgregor’s triple lost 22-11.
In the second friendly of the week, Wokingham Ladies crashed 62-42 at Windsor & Eton. Diane Pople and her triple managed a 20-20 draw, but Sandra Thompson’s lost 16-14 and Janette Kane’s 26-8.
