WASHINDI Trampoline Club enjoyed multiple success in three of their most recent competitions – the National League, British Championships and National Development Plan Finals.

In the second league competition of the season in Cardiff, each of Crowthorne-based Washindi’s three competitors in the 15-16 League 3 category produced confident routines in a strong field of competition.

Ellie Stevenson gained 53rd place with teammate Chiara Hilton in 48th and Rachael Gooding in 35th.

In the 17-18 League 3 category, Bethan Gill completedcompeted a new double somersault and finished in 27th place, Chloe Hatto gaining 25th place and Emily Sherratt finishing in 14th place.

Lydia Osborn, in the 19+ category, finished in 35th place.

Washindi’s most impressive result of the competition came from Callum Gooding, who secured first place in the 17-18 Men’s category and gained the maximum 100 points, which will put him in good stead to compete in the finals which take place in the Olympic park.

Washindi also had success in the British Championships at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, where three of the club’s qualifiers showcased the routines they had been practising.

The category 1 TPD competition finished with James Saunders and Russell Cooper finishing equally in sixth place. In the category 2 TPD, Thomas Hue gained fifth place.

Washindi’s male competitors were well represented at the NDP final event in the Telford National Centre, finishing off an all round successful season for the club.

For all the competitors, this was a huge achievement, considering that multiple stages of competition were required in order to qualify for the event which boasts the top performers in the country, Kofi Elhaggagi gained third place for the NDP 2 9-10 boys, with team mate Owen a close seventh.

In addition, Jake Bullock finished fifth in the NDP 1 11-12 boys category, and Callum Gooding secured fifth place in the NDP 6 17+ men, all against some highly advanced competition.
