THERE were mixed fortunes for the Bracknell sides in the cups last weekend with wins for Ascot United and Bracknell Town but defeats for Wokingham & Emmbrook and Sandhurst Town.
Ten-man Wokingham & Emmbrook were involved in a dramatic 1-0 extra-time defeat to Marlow in the FA Vase on Sunday afternoon.
Shaun Wanklyn's horrific challenge on Marlow's Aaron Baker resulted in a broken leg for the latter and a straight red for the Wokingham player.
The game was then delayed for half an hour while an ambulance arrived at Larges Lane to treat Baker.
Marlow's winner came in the first period of extra time when Marcus Mealing, who had just had an effort tipped round the post, smashed home after being set up by substitute Marcus Richardson's cheeky backheel.
There was better news for Ascot United, who dispatched of Witney Town 2-0 to progress to the second round of the FA Vase.
The Yellamen scored twice in the second half thanks to efforts from Lee Boon - his second in as many games - and Ben Knight, a fine solo goal in stoppage time.
Ascot now host Reading Town on November 17.
Sandhurst Town were no match for Wantage Town as they were crushed 8-1 at Bottom Meadow.
Richard Claydon and Brad Chalmers both scored twice with the other goals for Wantage coming from Tom Malton, Tony Joyce, Graham Edney and Liam McCullough.
Bracknell Town eased past Reading Football League side Ashridge Park 6-0 in the second round of the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup.
Goals from Carl Barrie, Lee Riddell and a brace from Shane Cooper-Clarke gave the Robins a 4-0 lead at half time.
A further double from Tom Barratt in the second period rounded off a comfortable win for Steve Nebbett's side.
In one of only three games in the Hellenic Premier Division, Binfield moved into the top six thanks to a comprehensive 6-1 win over basement side Abingdon Town.
Garry Sargeant led the way with a hat-trick with further goals being scored by Ryan Millward, Jos Millar and James Suarez. Ben Taylor scored Abingdon's goal.
Eversley & California maintained their excellent form with an entertaining 7-3 win over Epsom Athletic to move up to second in Combined Counties Division One.
The Boars were 6-0 up at half time with goals from Chris Fox, Jermaine Hamilton (2), Matt Baker (2) and Neil Williams.
Baker went on to complete his hat-trick but the Boars conceded three goals in the last 10 minutes as complacency began to set in.
