The Moles were briefly pegged back before captain Garry Callaway restored the lead just before half-time.

Dan Rapley made it 3-1 but the hosts reduced the deficit and only an excellent late save from Matt Watson kept the Moles ahead.

Mark Tallentire’s men have now won their last three matches.

Elsewhere, Adam Cooke scored on his debut to help 10-man Wokingham & Emmbrook draw 1-1 at Chinnor in Hellenic Division One East.

The Sumas saw Nick Bateman sent off for a second yellow card late in the first half and then fell behind before the break.

But Cooke headed home from Jack Gibbs’ corner soon after the interval to level it up.

Ascot United were the only side in the top four of the Hellenic Premier Division to win as they beat Cheltenham Saracens 5-1.

The Yellamen opened the scoring direct from a corner and led 2-1 at the break after a Stuart Swift free-kick.

The hosts also had a man sent off late in the first half and Ascot took advantage with goals from Swift, Joe Gritt and Johnny Denton.

Bracknell Town and Finchampstead were not in action at the weekend.

Eversley & California returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Bedfont & Feltham in Combined Counties Division One.

However, Sandhurst Town were beaten 4-1 at home by Banstead Athletic in the same division.
