HELLENIC Division One West runaway leaders Brimscombe & Thrupp ended Binfield's cup season with a battling 2-1 win in the third round of the Hellenic Challenge Cup.

It was the Moles' third defeat in a row, with all the goals coming in the first half.

They fell behind in the 10th minute when Mishy Green's bullet header found the roof of the net despite Dan Weait's efforts to keep it out.

Garry Sargeant pulled the scorers level after 32 minutes but the visitors' lead didn't last long as they conceded a second just 10 minutes later when Ben Prictor's free-kick sailed into the top corner.

Finchampstead were also beaten by Division One West opponent as they lost 3-1 to Tytherington Rocks in the Challenge Cup.

Finch's goal came via the penalty spot from Sean Cahill.

Matt Jones was on the scoresheet twice but could not prevent Wokingham & Emmbrook slipping to a 3-2 defeat at Thame United in the Hellenic Premier Division.

The scores were locked at 1-1 until a frenetic ending, which saw three goals scired in the last four minutes.

Thame goalscorers were Alex Stewart, Ben Gray and Dan West.

Wokingham are hoping to give a number of players some much-needed minutes in a friendly at Combined Counties Division One leaders Frimley Green on Wednesday evening (7.45pm ko).

Bracknell Town's top-of-the-table clash with Rayners Lane in Hellenic Division One East was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Sandhurst Town produced a disastrous second-half display to go down 6-0 against Bedfont Sports in Combined Counties Premier Division.

Eversley & California beat Farleigh Rovers 6-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Neil Williams.

Sam Jefferies netted twice, with Chris Fox rounding off the scoring 10 minutes from time.
