The ‘A’ side held on for a narrow victory, whilst the ‘B’ side fell to a slender defeat due to a mad six minutes where they conceded three tries.

Preparation for Bracknell ‘A’ couldn’t have been much worse as three players - two from London Irish academy - pulled out before the game.

Ealing took advantage and were camped in the Bracknell 22 for the first 20 minutes but couldn’t break them down and it remained 0-0 at half-time.

The hosts broke the deadlock shortly after the break with an unconverted try but Bracknell replied instantly with Kyle Bruwer crashing over the line and Matt Dalrymple adding the extras.

Sam Clough then intercepted an Ealing pass to run the length of the field and score for Bracknell, with Dalrymple again successful with his kick.

Ealing grabbed a try late on but the conversion was unsuccessful and Bracknell stood strong in defence to hold on to a 14-10 win.

Bracknell ‘B’ weren’t as fortunate though as they fell to a 33-27 defeat, with conversions the difference as both sides ran in five tries apiece.

Lewis Newman, Toby Parker (2) and Theo Gunn (2) crossed the whitewash for Bracknell, but a six minute lapse in concentration saw Ealing score three tries to ensure they grabbed victory come full time.

Bracknell travel to Marlow this Sunday, with the ‘A’ team looking to avenge a defeat last season, whilst the ‘B’ side will be looking for their first victory of the season.
