CROWTHORNE RFC kept their dreams of a top-four BB&O Premier finish alive with a bonus-point 29-3 victory against Hungerford on Saturday, writes Richard Ashton.

The Crows moved level on points with Abingdon following their comfortable success, during which Jake Lovelock scored a brace of tries.

Man-of-the-match Jake Mollett also crossed the whitewash along with second row George Watson.

Teenager Josh Roberts converted Lovelock’s first try and Rhys Evans added the extras to Watson’s effort.

The only blot on the Crows’ copybook was yellow cards to Greg Redpath and Karl Crosbie, but they were convincing winners against their Berkshire rivals.

Crowthorne – who were promoted from the BB&O Championship as runners-up at the end of last season – stand on 62 points going into their final match of the season this Saturday.

That is at runners-up Milton Keynes (3pm), whose title hopes were ended by Gosford All Blacks’ win at Wheatley last Saturday.
