BRACKNELL RFC head coach Rory Greenslade-Jones believes his side are ‘back on track’ despite suffering a heart-breaking 10-9 defeat to Chichester on Saturday, writes Richard Ashton.

Scrum-half Lewis Dennett had an opportunity to snatch victory with the last kick of the game, but his effort drifted wide at a muddy Lily Hill Park.

The defeat was their sixth consecutive reverse in National Three London & South East, although Greenslade-Jones believes his side have progressed since their 46-24 capitulation against Colchester earlier this month.

He told the News: “We played very well and we were really unfortunate to lose the game.

“We have developed. Last week we showed intensity and hunger in defence at London Irish Wild Geese, and against Chichester I thought we retained possession very well.

“There are lots of positives compared to two weeks ago.”

Greenslade-Jones continued: “We’ve now got to pick ourselves up in training like we have in the past two weeks.

“We have to bounce back and get ourselves into the right frame of mind and up for the next game against Eton Manor.

“We’ve got to take it on another notch again – we need to go down there and get the win.

“Things are back on track and now all we need is a result.”
