Bracknell return from a weekend’s break in league fixtures with a trip to Bournemouth this Saturday (2.30 pm).

The Lily Hill men are currently fourth in the table and secured a hard-fought 34–27 home win over Barnstaple last time out.

That crucial victory left them just one point behind third-placed Brixham, who travel to Lily Hill Park on Saturday week.

Fifth-placed Hornets can also mount a serious challenge for third as they are six points adrift of Bracknell but with two games in hand.

And Greenslade-Jones knows his players face a real battle from now until the end of the season.

He said: “The last six or seven weeks have been tough and intense, so we were looking forward to having last weekend off to recharge the batteries.

“The aim now is to kick on when we get back to action this Saturday and win as many games as we can before the end of the campaign to take that confidence forward into next season.” Bracknell have won four of the last five league matches, but their narrow 16–11 defeat at second-placed Exmouth put paid to their hopes of clinching a play-off spot.

Greenslade-Jones has also been forced to deal with a number of injuries to key players over the season and also saw inspirational captain, Nico Maybury, return to his native New Zealand recently at the end of his working visa.

Bracknell’s injury problems are not over yet either as George Owen damaged his shoulder in the win against Barnstaple and is a doubt for this weekend’s clash.

Nevertheless, Greenslade-Jones insists his squad will be well prepared for the remaining seven games of the season and that confidence remains high.

He added: “We didn’t have a game last weekend but we still trained on Thursday then held a bit of a team bonding session to raise morale for the rest of the season.

“It’s important to do these things now and again to keep that team spirit together.

“It’s been a difficult season but we have made progress and we are looking to build on that in the future.

“There have been many positives to come our of the season so far and we have every reason to be optimistic.”
