Bracknell have lost four of their nine fixtures in National Three South West to leave them sixth in the table.

Those losses include morale-sapping defeats to three of their chief promotion rivals including leaders Exmouth as well as Redingensians and Brixham.

It leaves the Lily Hill men a full 10 points adrift of Exmouth and eight points behind Hornets, who occupy second place and the one available play-off spot on offer.

And Greenslade-Jones knows that Bracknell cannot afford any more slip ups from here.

He told the News: “We’re only eight points off second place so perhaps it’s time to reassess our goals and maybe look for that second spot.

“You never know what will happen in this division and especially this season in particular. Teams near the top keep beating each other, so we are far from out of it yet.

“But if I’m honest we have lost more games at this stage of the season than we would have liked. Most have been by a handful of points which makes it even more frustrating.

“We know we are getting closer to where we want to be, but it’s going to be tough to catch Exmouth now.” Bracknell’s inconsistency this season could be summed up by their most recent fixture the weekend before last.

They were beaten 27-26 at fourth-placed Brixham in agonising fashion after George Owen missed a penalty to win it at the death.

Greenslade-Jones has now set his sights on winning their next three matches to put them back in promotion contention.

Bracknell host Chard at Lily Hill Park this Saturday (2.15pm ko) before travelling to struggling Weston-super-Mare a week later followed by a crucial trip to second-placed Hornets.

The Welshman confessed: “It has been a tough start to the season overall.

“We’ve had a lot of injuries and struggled with availability at times.

“But the boys who have come in have done a great job including those who played in the defeat at Brixham.

“Thankfully, we’re getting a few players back and the aim now is to win our next three games then see where we are.”
