Fortunately the teams behind them in the league also dropped points so their six-point lead at the top of MBBO League Division Eight remains unchanged.

The game started evenly with both teams pushing forward and Wokingham having the best of the chances but finding a Wycombe keeper in good form.

As the half drew to a close, Wycombe were reduced to 10 men as their skipper was yellow carded for five minutes for deliberately breaking up play when throwing his stick at a ball to stop a very promising Wokingham break.

After half-time, Wokingham dominated play more and eventually opened the scoring after outstanding work from Doug Boyall and Dave Sansome set up leading scorer James Gibbs to finish at the back post.

Wokingham continued to dominate the half but were made to pay for not converting their chances when Wycombe scored a scrappy goal a few minutes from the end.
