DAVE Kitson has taken at swipe at Reading FC for ignoring the record-breaking team of 2005/06.

Royals won the Championship title under Steve Coppell with 106 points that year – more than any team has ever managed – to secure a first promotion to the top-flight in the club's history.

But striker Kitson, who banged in 22 goals that campaign, has accused Reading of ignoring the former players who helped make history.

In an expletive-filled post on Instagram, Kitson wrote: “Eleven years on and I have never been invited back to watch a game.

"While I pretend not to give a **** I cannot help but feel the ambivalence shown by Reading FC towards its history is indicative of foreign ownership as well as the old guard desperately trying to cling on to what power it has left.

“I wish Reading FC every success in the play-offs but quite frankly the disdain that Reading FC continues to show towards the 106 team is a ******* disgrace.”

Here's Kitson's Instagram post in full with expletives removed.
