A SELL-OUT QIPCO British Champions Day kicks off at 1.45pm with the £200,000 QIPCO British Champions Long Distance Cup (1.45pm), with the 16 confirmations including last year's winner Fame And Glory.

Attention switches to speed for race two, the £250,000 QIPCO British Champions Sprint (2.20pm) over six furlongs while there should be a fascinating clash of the generations in the British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes at 2.55pm.

The day concludes at 4.45pm with the seven-furlong Future Stars Apprentice Handicap.

Rod Street, Chief Executive of British Champions Series said: "To have four of the world's top six turf horses confirmed for Saturday promises something very special indeed for Britain's richest raceday, especially in the QIPCO Champion Stakes, when Frankel looks like facing the toughest assignment of his career as he attempts to retain his unbeaten record."

He added: "It is expected to be the world number one's final race and a capacity crowd will be ready to bid him farewell on a day that is likely to build to an unparalleled and highly charged crescendo shortly after 4pm.

"Four out of the five winners from last year - Frankel, Cirrus des Aigles, Fame And Glory and Dancing Rain, as well as three of the runners-up, Excelebration, Wizz Kid and Opinion Poll, have been confirmed which is amazing.

"The eyes of the racing world, and indeed the sporting world, will be on Ascot like never before."
