Due to the end of the cricket season, and the league scheduling them further away games, the Sumas had to wait until Saturday to return to Lowther Road, but they did so in style as they put on a fantastic show for the crowd that came out to watch.

It was the perfect start for Dan Bateman’s side, racing into a three goal lead early on as Burnham struggled to live with their decisive passing that cut through the visitors at will.

Elliot Rushforth broke the offside trap twice early doors, racing clear to finish astutely both times to give the hosts a comfortable lead.

Moments later, it was 3-0 as Nick Bateman tapped into an empty net after Jake Butler’s initial effort was parried.

Luke Scope got his first goal of the afternoon just before half-time as he fired home a cross from Mark O’Connell to make it 4-0 at the break.

With the game over, Sumas expressed themselves in the second-half, pouring forward at every opportunity looking to add to the scoreline.

They were caught out just after the restart, with Naher Nawaf stabbing home to grab a goal back for the visitors.

Wokingham were rampant though, and Butler restored the four goal lead when he stroked the ball home following a cutback from Scope.

James Charlton headed home a Jack Gibbs corner to make it 6-1, before Scope grabbed his second of the game as Wokingham continued to dominate.

Rushforth then completed his hat-trick with a fine individual run, before Scope joined him on three goals when he fired home after good work from Sam Bateman.

The duo combined again two minutes from time as Scope grabbed his fourth of the day to ensure it was double figures for Wokingham and a complete rout on a perfect day at the office.

Bateman’s side will be looking to build on the victory when they host Chalfont Wasps at Lowther Road next Saturday (3pm).

Wokingham sit third in the table 10 points off league leaders Brackley Town Development but with four games in hand.
