The Robins threw away a two-goal lead in added time and drew 2-2 with Wootton Bassett Town on Saturday, before falling to a 2-0 loss at Highmoor Ibis on Monday evening.

It is now seven games without a win for Ed Carpenter’s side, who last tasted victory on September 16, when they ran out 3-0 winners at home to Newbury.

Monday’s trip to Ibis was always going to be difficult for the Robins, with Ibis coming into the match on the back of six straight league wins.

But it was Bracknell who had the first chance to open the lead, when Jake White’s header from Jordan Rowland’s corner crashed against the post in the 14th minute.

Ibis had conceded just one goal in six matches before the match, so opportunities were always going to be difficult to come by for the visitors.

And they were made to rue missing that opportunity as Ibis took the lead in the 26th minute.

Rorie Palmer received the ball inside the box, and turned to fire low and hard beyond James Hawtree in the Bracknell goal.

The goal calmed Ibis down and they started to play some good football, getting their reward in the 40th minute when they doubled their lead.

It came courtesy of Mitchell Parker, who struck a fine free-kick to make it 2-0 before the break.

Bracknell rallied in the second-half, and saw goalbound efforts cleared off the line twice in four minutes, but they couldn’t break the Ibis rearguard.

Ibis were comfortable with a 2-0 lead and rarely threatened to extend that, happily taking the three points to condemn Bracknell to another defeat.

The result comes following a day of frustation on Saturday for the Robins, as they were pegged back in added time by Wootton Bassett Town at Larges Lane.

It was an even first-half between the sides, but Shane Cooper-Clark was again the difference early on as he took two chances either side of half-time to seemingly put Bracknell in a comfortable position.

The Robins looked strong throughout the second half and could’ve added to their tally, but failed to do so which ultimately came back to cost them.

Steve Yeardley headed home a Richie Carter cross in the 90th minute to seeminly give the visitors a consolation goal.

But straight from the restart, the visitors won a corner and sent every player - including the goalkeeper - into the box.

A melee ensured in a crowded box and James Skinner was on hand to fire home after the ball had dropped to him to rescue a point for Wootton and snatch two points from Bracknell in a dramatic encounter.

The two results leave The Robins in 12th place in the Hellenic Premier Division, after 15 games.

Bracknell will be looking to bounce back when they travel to lowly Abingdon this Saturday (3pm).
