Barratt scored a brace in last week’s 2-0 win over Highworth Town – including one from the halfway line – before getting 90 minutes under his belt during Saturday’s win and then scoring the only goal in Bracknell's 1-0 win at Wootton Bassett on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old will be putting his education on hold in the summer when he takes a year out to try and progress in the game and forge a professional career with a Football League side.

And Nebbett believes that the midfielder has the ability to make it with a top team, labelling him as the best player by far in the Hellenic Premier Division.

“The boy is unbelievable,” he said. “He’s got everything. He’s got pace, power and a good attitude. He can score from anywhere. He listens to me, which is the good thing and he’s got a great attitude, he can go all the way.

“For me personally he is by far the best player in the league. I want someone to give him a chance whether that’s a Swindon Town, a Fulham or a Crystal Palace.

“I don’t want him to go and play Conference football, which he could easily do. I really feel he could go somewhere better, learn and become really good.

“He’s better than Ben Gladwin [former Reading Town midfield, now at Swindon] that’s my personal opinion. I’ve told him that. It’s attitude and a bit of luck.

“I have to teach him things - when not to lose the ball, when to run, when to pass, but he listens and he learns.” Robins were made to work hard for their victory on Saturday, having to come from behind to secure the three points.

They fell behind in the 26th minute when a defensive mix-up allowed Josh Fowler to steal in and put the visitors ahead.

But Bracknell were back on level terms just six minutes later when the ever-dangerous Barratt crossed the ball and it was hooked back across goal by Shane Cooper-Clark to allow Ben Knight to fire home.

The hosts then took the lead when a drilled Knight shot was parried by the goalkeeper and Sam Whiting followed up to put Bracknell ahead.

But a minute later and parity was restored for the visitors when Liam Alleyne gave the ball away and Steve Robertson punished him by finishing accurately past the stranded Bracknell keeper.

It looked like the score would be level at half-time after a flurry of goals but there was one more before the break as Danny Oliphant struck the decisive goal to give the hosts the win.

Barratt laid a pass back to Martin Bradshaw and his shot was flicked in by Oliphant to seal the victory and give Bracknell their seventh win in eight games.

“It was a strange game,” added Nebbett. “The work-rate got us through today and the sheer will to win.

“The first half we were so far apart. We were tired and it showed.

“The forwards are looking good and scoring and us four [at the back] were letting them down so we had to tighten it up and we did.” Bracknell welcome Reading Town to Larges Lane on Saturday (3pm ko.)
