Matt Cooper and Mark Farrell both hit the back of the net in the first half to put Devels on top at the break.

A third goal shortly after the break from Richard Steel extended the advantage and Devels held out to secure their fifth league win of the season.

Elsewhere in the division, Bracknell Rovers were beaten 6-0 by Marlow United but there was better news for Bracknell Rovers A as they reached the club’s first cup final.

Rovers beat FC Bracknell 4-1 in the semi-finals of the Bracknell & District Sunday League Junior Cup.

* BRACKNELL Rovers FC will play their remaining home matches this season at The Crematorium Ground after collaborating with Bracknell Town Council to get the facility up to scratch.

Due to the ground share with Bracknell Athletics Club, Rovers are only able to use the John Nike Stadium from August until late March, and then play their remaining matches away from home.

However, that was going to prove difficult this season as the campaign only started in September and numerous matches have been postponed due to the wet weather.

So Rovers and Bracknell Town Council have collaborated to fit new locks on all changing room doors at The Crematorium Ground, cleared the referee’s room, marked out technical areas and agreed post-match food and refreshment procedures, while also roping the pitch off on matchdays.

In addition, Blue Qube Ltd have sponsored two new dugouts for the new ground.

AFC Ascot AFC Ascot secured a vital three points in their bid for survival with a 3-0 home victory over Robertswood on Saturday.

The home side put in a much improved performance as they look to maintain their East Berkshire Division One status.

The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when Alex Fettes picked up the ball and muscled his way through a challenge before burying the ball into the far corner of the net.

Ascot doubled their lead just before half-time when Matthew Swain collected the ball in defence and played a diagonal ball over the Robertswood defence, which allowed Joe Cook to steal in behind and lob the advancing keeper.

The hosts sealed the win in the 55th minute when Fettes released Matthew Panton who had time to pick his spot in the top corner and wrap up the points.

Ascot’s next game is in the quarter-final of the Ascot & District Fielden Cup on Saturday when they play Iver Heath Rovers at Locks Ride (2pm ko).
