Robins’ clash with Highworth Town last weekend went the same way as their match against Oxford City Nomads the weekend before when it was called off due to a waterlogged pitch at Larges Lane.

While some teams may view losing back-to-back home games because of the weather as a blow, Nebbett argues his players perform better on their travels.

A glance at the Hellenic Premier table backs up Nebbett’s theory as Robins have won five away matches this season compared to just three at home.

Nebbett told the News: “For some reason we don’t blow teams away at home and I don’t know why that is.

“We are a very good side and we can beat any team in this league on our day.

“But we haven’t really clicked at home yet. All this weather hasn’t helped because it seems like ages since we’ve had a good run of games.

“But whether we play at home or away doesn’t really bother me too much. We go out to win every game, whether it’s home or on the road.” The last time Bracknell supporters saw their team win a league match at Larges Lane was on October 15 in a 2-0 victory over Flackwell Heath.

By contrast, Robins won 1-0 at Thame United last time out before floods decimated the fixture list.

Now Bracknell will be looking to make it back-to-back league wins when they travel to Cheltenham Saracens for a crucial game this Saturday (3pm).

Saracens are one of only three teams to lose at Larges Lane this season after a brace from Jake White earned Nebbett’s men all three points back in September.

Now, only three points separate 14th-placed Bracknell from Cheltenham in 15th, though Saracens boast six games in hand.
