FINCHAMPSTEAD manager Jon Laugharne wants his side to find more consistency to ensure they finish in the top half of Hellenic Division One East this season.

Like the majority of the teams across the leagues, Finch saw their game with AFC Hinksey postponed last weekend due to the weather.

That means they enter their double header against Woodley Town on the back of consecutive defeats against Chalfont Wasps and Maidenhead United Reserves.

Those losses were Finch's first since mid-December and Laugharne is keen for his side to put another winning run together.

"The boys were eager to play last weekend after the defeats so it was frustrating, but it's been the story of the season. We have been trying to build momentum but it is disrupted all the time," he told the News.

"Compared to where we were at this stage last season we are three points worse off, but we have done better in the cups. We should be doing better but we still have time, it's very tight in the league and we still want to finish in the top half.

"We have proved that we can compete with anyone with the results we have got, we just need more consistency, that is the key."

Finch travel to Woodley this Saturday (3pm ko) before hosting the same side on March 30, two days before they entertain local rivals Bracknell Town.

Woodley are undefeated in the league since August 18 and Laugharne is expecting a tough test from Cyril Fairchild's men.

"Woodley are a difficult side to play against, they haven't lost for a while, but we don't fear anyone in the league," he said.

"We take each game as it comes and we have shown that we can beat anyone."
