Carl Davies rejects Kingfishers
BINFIELD striker Carl Davies has reiterated his desire to stay at the Moles after he rejected a move to Thatcham Town last week.
Thatcham Town manager Gary Ackling watched Davies play in the recent cup game against Reading Town, prompting a seven-day approach from the Southern league club.
But the Welshman confirmed that he turned down the offer.
"I told Mark [Tallentire] that I want to stay. Binfield have been very good to me this season. It's a well-run club with great aspirations," he told the News.
However, he admitted: "Thatcham are an appealing team to play for. They're doing well in the league. Mark knows I want to play in the Southern league but I'm hoping to do that with Binfield. "
Meanwhile, Carl Davies is facing a race against time to be fit for Saturday's crucial FA Vase tie at Tividale (3pm ko) after sustaining an ankle injury this week.
He has been unable to train during the week but is hopeful that he will make the big trip.
