BINFIELD maintained their promotion push in the Hellenic Premier Division with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over lowly Pegasus Juniors.

Dan Withers and Garry Sargeant scored the goals for Moles as they made it six wins from their last six outings in the league.

Elsewhere, Bracknell Town and Reading Town did little to ease their relegation worries ahead of their crunch meeting at Scours Lane on Tuesday night.

Robins were defeated 2-0 away at Flackwell Heath while Reading came from behind to salvage a 2-2 home draw with Oxford City Nomads.

Luke Lee scored in the fourth minute for Wokingham and Embrook but they were pegged back almost immediately by Carterton and neither side could find a winner.

Ascot United conceded in the 85th minute as they lost 2-1 at Shortwood United and Richard Kell scored the only goal of the match for Finchampstead in their Hellenic Division One East 'six-pointer' against Didcot Town Reserves.

In the Berks and Bucks Intermediate Cup, Woodley Town were eliminated at the semi-final stage after losing 3-1 to Didcot Casuals.

Sandhurst Town dropped points in their hunt for a play-off spot in Combined Counties Premier Division as they drew 1-1 at home with Mole Valley SCR.

Elsewhere, Eversley picked up a valuable three points against Division One play-off rivals Hartley Wintney thanks to a 2-1 away win.
