READING YMCA extended their unbeaten Premier Division run to a staggering 50 matches with a 6-1 drubbing of home side Berks County on Saturday, writes Richard Ashton.

The Young men were last beaten 2-1 by Marlow United back on March 19, 2016, and braces from Dan Donegan and Ashley Searle, plus goals from Ryan Adams and Jamie Piercy, proved more than enough at the John Nike Stadium.

During their incredible run, YM have scored 190 goals and conceded just 26, and they extended their streak to 51 matches on Monday with another 6-1 success away to Mortimer.

Eighth-placed Mortimer had previously beaten Cookham Dean 3-2 thanks to goals from Josh Helmore, Paul Taplin and Danny Seaward.

Woodcote Stoke Row remain top of the table by 12 points from YMCA – who have seven games in hand – after easing past Newbury 4-0.

Andy Bullett put the visitors in front inside two minutes, and the veteran doubled his tally before the break.

Ross Weatherstone’s men went 3-0 up thanks to a Mark Hughes header on 50 minutes, and substitute Ryan Corbett completed the scoring late on.

Marlow United had mixed results in their brace of derbies, beating Wraysbury Village 3-2 but losing 1-0 to Cookham Dean.

Against Wraysbury, Surdariu Catalin bagged a brace and Liam Bushay was also on target to overcome a pair of Mike Wilson strikes.

A Liam Wilson hat-trick inspired Woodley United Royals to a 7-2 demolition of cellar dwellers Taplow United.

Luke Blakebrough, Jamie Smith, Toby Briggs and replacement Dylan Chaffin were also on the scoresheet for the visitors, with Jordan Jawandha replying with a double for Taplow.

Berks County followed up their defeat to YMCA with a 2-2 draw at Highmoor Ibis United on Monday night.

Burghfield FC moved level on points with two games in hand on Division One table-toppers FC Imaan Lions after beating the leaders 2-1. Ateeq Butt got the goal for Imaan.

John Willmont, Ryan Adams and Karl Haggen were all on target for third-placed Richings Park as they kept their title dreams alive with a convincing 3-0 victory at Rotherfield United.

Keiron Mabbutt and Andrej Homola netted for Reading YMCA Rapids in their 2-1 home win against Frilsham & Yattendon, while Rich Harling scored for Maidenhead Town in their 2-2 draw at Finchampstead.

It was the second time in four days Town had drawn, having been held 1-1 at Cookham Dean Reserves. Austin Chadwick was the hosts’ goalscorer, with Sam Angel replying late on for Maidenhead.

Jamie Hanscombe and Joe Butler netted for Cookham Dean Reserves in their 2-2 draw with Reading YMCA Rapids on Monday.

Braybrooke reached the semi finals of the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup with a 6-2 demolition of Cookham Dean Reserves, while Wargrave knocked Highmoor Ibis Athletic out of the Reading Jubilee Cup 2-1.

Delroy Howell was on the scoresheet for Marlow United Reserves, but it proved insufficient as they lost 2-1 at home to Division Two trailblazers FC Woodley.

Ben Rusher bagged a brace as resurgent Woodcote Stoke Row Reserves overcame Harchester Hawks 2-1, while Brimpton Athletic and AFC Corinthians shared the spoils in an entertaining 3-3 draw.

A Matt Ploszynski double and a Mark Pearson strike helped Goring United beat Henley Town Reserves 3-1, but the Division Three table-toppers were then beaten 1-0 at Wargrave on Monday.

Mikey Jones scored four times as Division Four title favourites Twyford & Ruscombe hammered Goring United Reserves 8-1.

Rhys York, Sam Hickman and Ben Claridge were among the other Twyford goalscorers, helping their side stay 14 points clear of Taplow United A. Alex Fletcher got the consolation goal for the home side.

Seamus Stapleton grabbed a double and Dale Bowden and Bhurinder Bangoo were also on target as Taplow United A won 4-3 at White Eagles Reserves.

Tom Osborne struck twice and James Akerman got the other goal as Maidenhead Town A squeezed past AFC Corinthians A 3-2, while Taran Bansal’s effort secured a point for basement side Farnham Royal Mavericks in their 1-1 draw at Woodley United B.
