Wokingham District Schools’ Under 11s Representative Team have been crowned champions of the Surrey District League for the second year in a row.
They did it with a game to spare thanks to a 2-0 victory over Croydon District on Saturday with George Weston-Brown scoring both goals.
It is a great achievement for the youngsters who won all their Surrey League games without conceding a single goal.
Wokingham now have the chance to make it a league double this Friday when they take on Oxford City District in the Southern Counties League.
A win or a draw would see Wokingham win their second league title this season.
Wokingham team manager Stuart Bevan said: “It has been an incredible season and the district continues to build on its ever-growing reputation as one of the strongest district associations in the country.
Wokingham have already qualified for the Premier League National Finals at Liverpool FC’s Melwood training ground in June featuring 10 regional winners from across the country.
They are also heading to Jersey over Easter for the annual ESFA Jersey District Football Festival.
