DOUG Scholes scored twice – once from the penalty spot – and Conrad Louth got the other as Finchampstead Athletic Reserves overcame horrendous conditions to beat second-bottom Ashridge Park 3-2 and move up to fifth in Division One.

In Division Three, Winnersh Town climbed out of the bottom two with a sensational 5-4 victory in a nine-goal thriller at mid-table Bearwood Wanderers.

Hope & Anchor’s Berks & Bucks Junior Trophy dreams were ended at the last 16 stage as they were thumped 8-3 at Slough United Reserves, while Bracknell Corinthians were also trounced, going down 8-0 at home to an impressive Twyford Comets outfit.

All other games involving sides in the league were postponed due to a combination of snow and waterlogged pitches.
