AROUND 400 players, parents and coaches from FC Bracknell celebrated the club’s 40th anniversary by attending the Skybet Championship clash between Reading FC and Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The club runs 19 age-group boys and girls teams from the age of Under 5 to U14, playing in the East Berkshire and North Hampshire Youth Leagues.

Reading were beaten 2-0 at Madejski Stadium.

  • NIELS Bergknutt scored a sensational five-timer as Ascot United Under 13 Royals smashed Ascot United Saints.

Josh Andrews and Dan Fullard got the other two goals.

The U18 Yankees disposed of Windlesham United Youth Lions U17 2-0, while the U16 Youth overcame Kingstonian Park Royals by the same margin.

Aidan Holland bagged a brace, but the U15 Youth lost 4-2 to Esher Town Colts.

The U14 Youth were beaten 4-1 by Farnham Town Blues, Lawson Jones grabbing Ascot’s consolation, while Simran Karia equalised for the U16 Diamonds, but they were ultimately defeated 3-1 by Sutton United.

The U12 Diamonds were successful, though, winning 4-1 against Crystal Palace.

  • WOKINGHAM District Primary Schools Under 11s drew 3-3 with Wycombe in the Southern Counties League.

Emil Mursalov gave Wokingham the lead, but their opponents hit back to go into the break 2-1 up.

A stunning equaliser from Ejiro Abbey, who beat three Wycombe players before nestling the ball into the top corner, brought his side back into it, only for Wycombe to go back in front.

However, Josh Murray headed home a Sam Robinson corner at the back post to salvage the draw for Wokingham, who had previously beaten Gloucester 2-0 thanks to a Mursalov brace.

Wokingham also advanced in the Southern Counties Cup, beating Sutton 4-3.

Abbey scored twice with Murray also on target, but it took a last-minute winner from Amar Bakkati to help Wokingham progress.
