FINCHAMPSTEAD Athletic have moved a step closer to their first Premier Division title since 2001 with a 6-1 demolition of second-placed Golden Farmer Rangers, writes Nick Carpenter.

Mark Harding and Jamie Currie bagged braces with the other goals coming from Mike Starnes and Gareth Ainsworth for Finch, who now need to win three of their remaining four matches to clinch the crown.

FC Fernhill look the only side still capable of catching them and they won 4-2 at Bracknell Celtic, Sam Potter and Sipho Mphande scoring for Celtic.

Bracknell Cavaliers remain third despite going down 2-0 at Morale Madrid, while Jacob Keedge and Donnovon Cooper got the goals to earn Braybrooke Athletic their first point of the season with a 2-2 draw at Binfield Club Athletic. Tom Williams and Lewis Crossan replied.

Crowthorne Inn remain top of Division One despite a rare defeat as they lost 4-3 at Intercity, a Liam Forde double and Glen Simmonds strike not enough for Crows.

Finchampstead Athletic Reserves were awarded a walk-over against Bracknell Forest, while goals from Ryan Martin and an Adam Avis hat-trick helped Winkfield FC to a 4-0 win at home to Ashridge Park.

Elsewhere an Alex O’Brien goal wasn’t enough to secure the points for Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW as they drew 1-1 with AFC Crowthorne who had Tom Hogg on target. Hurricanes moved off the bottom with a 2-1 win at fellow strugglers 3M.

Binfield Royals thrashed Berkshire United 6-0 and stay four points clear at the top of Division Two, but WAB remain in touch following a 9-1 romp over Hope & Anchor, Lenny Musgrove and Marcus Federick both grabbing hat-tricks plus strikes from George Lovel, Danny Tippett and Dan Mason.

Bracknell Saint-Germain avenged a recent defeat by Bracknell Athletic to win the reverse fixture 6-1.

Sean Watson hit a hat-trick as Berks County won 7-0 at home to bottom side Winnersh Town with further goals from Tom Fraser, Chris Searle and a brace from Simon Taylor.

Newbold College came out on top of a seven-goal thriller with Warfield United, eventually edging the game 4-3. Christian Jones scored twice and Anthony Adade and Teodor Oprea notched Newbold’s other goals.

Bearwood Wanderers won 2-0 at Bracknell Royals to stay five points clear at the top of Division Three, while second-placed Woodley United, who have hit an incredible 21 goals in their last four games, triumphed 6-0 at home to Crownwood Dukes.

Ashridge Park U21s failed to climb above Woodley after a 2-2 draw with FC Harmanswater, who had Lucas Antoni and Sam Williams on target.

AFC Crowthorne Reserves were also held, drawing 1-1 with Winnersh Rangers, for whom Tom Whitfield was on target.

Bracknell Falcons are enjoying a late-season renaissance and are back up to sixth place with a 5-1 win at Finchampstead Athletic A, and Bracknell Titans and Bracknell Cavaliers U21s also drew 2-2, Toby Lynch and Jono Sandy on target for the Titans.
