DEPARTING Ascot United managers Jeff Lamb and Paul McGrotty have paid tribute to the club ahead of their final game in charge against Royal Wootton Bassett on Saturday.

The duo joined the club in 2011 and went on to lead the Yellamen to their most successful ever period, as they appeared in two FA Vase quarter finals, had three successive top-four finishes in the Hellenic Premier Division, won the Hellenic League Cup and the Hellenic Floodlit Cup.

They will be joined by Derek Sweetman in leaving the club, and in a statement, said: "We would like to say a thank you to all the wonderful people at the club, who have helped us during our time.

"A massive thank you to the growing number of fans who have started to follow the club, and have travelled long distances to watch us, we hope this support continues to grow."

They continued: "To all the players and staff who have worked with us, we thank you and wish you the best in your careers.

"During our time, we have established some wonderful rivalries, all in the right spirits, and thank those involved and wish them the best."

They concluded: "Personally, we would like to place on record, our thanks to Derek Sweetman who joined us a few years ago, adding some valuable experience to our team. We wish the club and everyone involved best wishes and success for the future.

"We now look forward to spending time with our young families and will see what the future holds."
