INJURY-hit Ascot United lost 3-1 at home to fellow bottom-six club Brackley Town Saints, who had failed to score in their previous four games while conceding 27 goals.

Saints took a fourth-minute lead when Josh Murphy was first go react after Kyle Wynne’s effort was blocked by keeper Carl Dennison.

The Yellamen equalised midway through the half when centre-back Yasin Allam lashed the ball in after a mass scramble in the box.

There were near misses at both ends before defensive errors led to Callum Williams and then Chris Jordan scoring to give Saints a 3-1 advantage by half-time. The second-half saw little goalmouth action at either end.

Ascot’s clash at Oxford City Nomads was postponed due to rain on Tuesday night. They host Longlevens this Saturday (3pm).

Wokingham & Emmbrook

Wokingham & Emmbrook got tripped up at Penn & Tylers with Fred Tripp bagging a hat-trick in a 4-2 win. Dean Munday also scored for the unbeaten Division 1 East leaders.

Sumas trailed 3-0, but kept on battling and were rewarded with goals from Tom Williams and substitute Matt Booth.

Wokingham who lie 10th in the table, visit bottom club Wantage Town Reserves this Saturday (3pm).

Sandhurst Town

Sandhurst, in 13th place, lost 3-1 away to Chalvey Sports in the third round of the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup.

The Fizzers are in Bluefin Sport Hellenic League Cup action this Saturday, away to Premier Division side Royal Wootton Bassett.

Eversley & California

Eversley & California won 2-0 at Dorking in the Combined Counties League thanks to goals from Ben Hutchins, after two minutes, and Jordan Baker on 52 minutes.

Eversley move up to seventh in Division 1 ahead of their trip to leaders Bagshot this Saturday (2.15pm ko).
