BINFIELD FC manager Roger Herridge believes his side are lacking players who can be leaders on the pitch after they had failed to hang on to a four-goal lead over Windsor on Monday, writes Dave Wright.
The Moles finished up the 4-2 winners in their Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy tie, but only after being given a late scare.
“When you are four up with less than 20 minutes remaining you think the job is done,” said a frustrated Herridge.
“But the way we allowed them to score two goals was very disappointing. We shouldn’t be conceding goals inside the six-yard area and you have to ask questions about your goalkeeper.
“We are giving away far too many soft goals.”
Herridge added: “We need more experience and a few more leaders out there. After conceding the first goal, we needed someone to pull the team together to prevent a second, but we were lacking one there tonight. But at the end of the day we have won the game and can now look forward going to Newport Pagnell in the semi-finals. It will be tough, even tougher if we have to go up there midweek.”
