WOKINGHAM & Emmbrook won a 10-goal cracker at Mortimer 7-3 on Saturday.

Ben Findlay’s goal saw the Sumas go in level at 1-1 at the break.

Jake Wheeler and Michael Flatman then put Clive McNelly’s Sumas 3-1 up, only for Mortimer to make it 3-3.

However, Elliott Rushforth, pictured right, notched a late hat-trick before Dan Carter added another to round things off.

Wokingham travel to Henley Town this Friday (7.30pm) and Cookham Dean this Saturday (3pm).

Meanwhile, McNelly has confirmed that Jake Butler, James Payne and goalkeeper Sean Woodward have re-signed for the coming season.

In addition, youngsters Michael Valdambrini and Callum Woodfield have signed senior forms after impressing for the club’s Under 16s East Berkshire Youth League side.

Woodfield scored 27 goals last season and the pair impressed in recent friendlies this pre season.

Elsewhere, Wokingham & Emmbrook have received the go-ahead to develop their Lowther Road ground, meaning they will play home matches in the town for the first time in two decades.

Redevelopment plans include a new 100 seater grandstand, floodlights and a new parking area.

Bracknell Town

BRACKNELL Town maintained their impressive pre-season form with a 5-2 win over Badshot Lea on Saturday.

Jahson Downes, with two, Khalid Senussi, Adam Cornell and an own goal made up the tally.

Town are hoping former Reading FC youngster Downes will sign a contract with the club.

With his side five up, manager Mark Tallentire made several changes late in the second half and Robins conceded two goals to the Combined Counties League side.

Last weekend Badshot appointed former Reading player Neville Roach as their new manager.

He tweeted: “Looking forward to the new challenge ahead; can’t wait to get started.”

Bracknell get their Hellenic League campaign under way next Tuesday (7.45pm ko) with a visit to Flackwell Heath, who finished third last season.

“It is a tough game for us, but then it’s also a tough game for Flackwell,” said Tallentire.

Ascot United

ASCOT United were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Marlow in their latest friendly on the weekend.

Yellamen begin their Hellenic Premier campaign with a home fixture against Highmoor Ibis at the Racecourse next Tuesday (7.45pm ko).

Elsewhere, Woodley United lost 4-1 to Tadley Calleva, while Finchampstead defeated Highmoor Ibis 2-1 on Saturday.
