WOKINGHAM & Emmbrook Youth FC celebrated a memorable season at their annual awards ceremony.

Among the big winners were the Under 15s Blacks team who enjoyed a successful campaign on the pitch.

Red-hot striker Calum Woodfield picked up three awards after winning the Golden Boot as top goalscorer before being named Players’ Player of the Year and Manager’s Player of the Year.

Rhys Williams was honoured for his efforts off the field with the Work in the Community Award, while Casey Starke and Alb Davies both received a Chairman’s Award for Club Commitment.

Ben Cook also picked up some silverware after finishing runner-up to Woodfield in the Players’ Player of the Year category.

Bracknell Town FORMER Bracknell Town manager Keith Penicott-Bowen has returned to local football with Thatcham Town.

Penicott-Bowen has joined last season’s Hellenic Premier runners-up Thatcham Town as first-team coach. He will be joined at Waterside Park by ex-Slough Town and Maidenhead United striker Yashwa Romeo.

The pair will assist Kingfishers co-bosses Danny Robinson and Gareth Thomas.

Penicott-Bowen already knows many of the Thatcham Town squad, including striker Shane Cooper-Clark who played for him at Bracknell.

Meanwhile, Bracknell Town, Binfield FC and Wokingham & Emmbrook have discovered who they will face in the first round of the Bluefin Sports Hellenic League Cup next season.

Bracknell Town have been drawn away to Hellenic Premier newcomers Burnham, who are managed by ex-Robins boss, Dave Tuttle.

Current Robins manager Mark Tallentire, who left Burnham to join the club, will be hoping to go far in the competition.

Roger Herridge’s Binfield face a tough trip to Milton Keynes Academy in the first round, while Wokingham a& Emmbrook host Lydney Town.

Ascot United have been handed a bye in the first round following the draw.

l THE make-up of all five divisions in the Uhlsport Hellenic Football League were confirmed for the 2016/17 season at the league’s AGM at the weekend.

Ascot United, Binfield and Bracknell remain in the Premier Division, while Tuffley Rover have been granted a stay of execution after North Greenford United moved to the Combined Counties League.

Wokingham & Emmbrook, Finchampstead, Sandhurst Town and Woodley United will all compete in Division One East.
