EVERSLEY and California U16 celebrated a cup treble after defeating Leatherhead Youth 3-0 to lift the Surrey County Cup.

With the Hampshire County Cup and Oxford League Cup already in the club’s trophy cabinet Eversley started slowly as Leatherhead made it difficult for them to settle into the game, but neither side could break the deadlock before the end of the half.

The break made a difference for Eversley as they started the second half much better and began to find their passing game.

At the mid-way point the Boars’ tenacity paid off when Jordan Edwards poached a goal from close range.

This ignited the game and Eversley began to dominate, Seb Louis-Verdier doubling his side’s lead with a trademark mazy run, which ended with a superb long-range shot into the bottom left corner of the net.

With seconds to go Eversley piled on the misery when a long clearance from the keeper found Brett Gardner who smashed his shot off the cross bar into the back of the goal.

l ASH United ended Eversley & California's Combined Counties League Division One promotion hopes with a 3-0 victory on Saturday.

The Boars visit Farleigh Rovers this Saturday (3pm) before hosting Bedfont & Feltham next Monday (1pm).
