DAN Marles scored a sensational five goals as Finchampstead Athletic Reserves moved a step nearer to the Division Two title with an 11-1 destruction of Hope & Anchor, writes Richard Ashton.

The talented all-round sportsman – who made his minor county cricket debut for Berkshire earlier this month – was joined on the scoresheet by Kwame Appiah, Doug Scholes, Anthony Parsons, Max Uttley and Liam Matthews, who netted twice.

Rich Gerrard grabbed a consolation for the hosts.

Second-placed Whitegrove FC have not given up their hopes of winning the title after securing three wins in the past week.

A Perry Roberts brace and goals from Billy Bryce, Tyler Edwards, Jack Gale and Ed Jackson-Sankey helped them to a 6-1 rout of Winnersh Town, for whom Gherbe Sorinel Mihoito was on target.

They had previously thumped Bracknell Falcons 4-1, with Bryce and George Hobden bagging doubles, and they also beat FC Harmanswater 4-2.

In-form Bryce grabbed another brace, with Denzil Crafton and Justin Sawyer also on the scoresheet for the home side. Scott Ansell netted twice for Harmanswater, while Whitegrove are five points behind Finchampstead with two games left to play. The leaders only have one more match remaining.

Ansell took his tally for the week to four goals as FC Harmanswater drew 4-4 with Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW. Justin Horton and Sam Seston got the other goals for the hosts, while Richard Bland and Sam Randle both scored twice for Wokingham.

Bracknell Forest picked up two wins, edging past Bracknell Falcons 3-2 and Winnersh Town 2-1. Joe Hales got the goal for Winnersh.

Finchampstead Athletic guaranteed the runners-up spot in the Premier Division with a brace of 4-1 successes at FC Meta and Raglan.

Ben Ide bagged a brace and Gareth Ainworth and Michael Starnes also netted for Finch, with Byron Duncan getting the consolation for the Meta.

Against Raglan, Ainsworth got another while Jamie Currie struck twice and Matthew Whittle completed the rout. Simon Miles scored for the hosts.

Thomas Williams was on the scoresheet for Binfield Club Athletic but they were beaten 2-1 by Sunningdale & Wentworth, while Raglan bounced back to winning ways with an entertaining 5-3 home win against Golden Farmer Rangers.

In Division One, champions Bracknell Celtic edged to a pair of 1-0 wins against Bracknell Cavaliers. Ryan Cooper was the match-winner on the first occasion.

Ryan Millward struck a brilliant hat-trick and Ash Carter and Liam Forde also netted as Hurricanes beat Sandhurst FFC 5-3, with the beaten side bouncing back against Newbold College with a 6-0 cruise.

Todd Andrews, Jake Leath and Ryan Nicholson scored for second-placed AFC Crowthorne in a 3-3 draw with Braybrooke Athletic. Crows had previously been gifted three points when Berks County conceded their game.

Super Reeves won 2-1 at 3M FC, Waverley Rangers won 5-3 at Hurricanes and Golden Farmer Rangers conceded their game at Ashridge Park.

Waverley Rangers lost 1-0 at home to 3M last Thursday.

In Division Three, Bracknell Saint-Germain are three points clear at the top following a 4-1 procession against AFC Crowthorne Reserves.

Mark Brown struck four times as Bracknell Royals thrashed Bracknell Manics Reserves 7-3, and they also crushed Finchampstead Athletic A 6-0.

Second-placed Bracknell Athletic eased past Winnersh Rangers 3-0, and Bracknell Manics Reserves drew 2-2 at Woodley United Reserves.
