NATHAN Silver is confident his Binfield FC side can secure all three points when they travel to Bracknell Town in the Hellenic League Premier Division on Friday (7.45pm), writes Richard Ashton.

The former Oxford United Academy goalkeeper will be between the sticks at Larges Lane as Roger Herridge’s men aim to improve their top-six hopes at the rejuvenated Robins, who have lost just once in their last five matches.

And Silver told the News: “It will be a good game, it’s a local derby. It was 2-2 last time so we’re looking forward to putting that right and getting a win.

“With it being on a Friday night we’ll be expecting a good crowd down there and it should be good.”

With Binfield without a game last Saturday, the shot-stopper turned out for Woodcote Stoke Row Reserves and saved a penalty in their 2-0 Thames Valley League Division Two win against Ashridge Park.

But he is looking forward to getting back to his regular teammates following his summer move from Reading Town.

Silver revealed: “It’s a great laugh and they are a great bunch of lads. Things haven’t been going all our way recently but I’m sure we’ll get back on track.

“The manager’s a funny bloke and a nice guy and I really enjoy playing for him.”

And the goalkeeper added there is plenty for Binfield to target as the season progresses.

He concluded: “I’m sure we can finish in the top six and we’d like to add a cup. That would be good for the club and something nice for everyone to enjoy.”
