BRADLEY Brown scored his first hat-trick for Eversley & California as they hammered Sheerwater 6-0 in their Combined Counties League Division One game at the ESA Sports Ground.

Brad Smith opened the scoring with a close-range goal when a Brown cross was not cleared by the visitors’ defence, and three minutes later Matt Griffiths got on the end of a Ross Kisiel corner to head home. The score remained at 2-0 until half time.

After the break Eversley goalkeeper Adrian Giles made a fine save to deny a one-on-one opportunity, and in the 59th minute the result was put beyond doubt as Brown opened his account.

The Boars took total control of the game when Brad Smith got on the end of another Brown cross to make it 4-0, and the provider then turned goalscorer again with a fine shot from the edge of the box which left the Sheerwater keeper helpless.

Brown completed his hat-trick with less than two minutes remaining when Smith cleverly nodded on a cross and the strike stretched to nod off the back of his head onto the underside of the bar and into the net.

The Boars had previously seen their game against Alresford Town postponed due to a waterlogged pitch last Tuesday.

Third-placed Eversley travel to rock bottom Farleigh Rovers this coming Saturday (2pm).

Sandhurst Town

THE weather caused both of Sandhurst Town’s games to be postponed last week – at Badshot Lea on Tuesday and at home to Farleigh Rovers on Saturday.

The Fizzers visit Banstead Athletic on Saturday (3pm), before playing the re-arranged Badshot Lea encounter next Tuesday (7.45pm).
