WOODCOTE Stoke Row got their Thames Valley Premier Division season back on track after a 4-1 win away at Rotherfield United on Saturday.

Despite fielding a depleted side, and without a victory in four matches, Woodcote were too good for rivals Rotherfield at Bishopswood Sports Ground.

The game ebbed and flowed with Woodcote finally making the breakthrough on 17 minutes when good interplay allowed Johnny Summers to rifle a shot from 15-yards beyond the Rotherfield keeper.

The second goal came on 34 minutes when a quick break caught the home defence asleep and a ricochet fell kindly to Jake Dillon who lobbed the keeper from the edge of the area.

In the second half, Woodcote captain James Hancock was unfortunate to have his header from a corner cleared off the line.

In the 55th minute, the inevitable happened as a failure to clear a cross saw a Rotherfield shot deflected into the top corner.

However, the away side were undeterred at conceding and continued to press on. They were rewarded on 63 minutes when a deep corner found Toby Nowell unmarked at the far post and he smashed a volley back into the bottom corner of the net.

The goal really finished off Rotherfield and it got worse for them when Nowell headed home a Summer cross at the far post on 77 minutes.

Goals from Andy Taylor and Paul Knox were not enough to earn Woodcote Stoke Row Reserves a point against Barkham.

The visitors secured a 3-2 win in spite of the home side enjoying periods of domination.

Woodley United Reserves moved up into a mid-table position following an entertaining 5-4 win against Berks County.

Harrison Wilks scored a brace for Woodley and there were further goals from James Smith, Jack Waller and substitute Joseph Danelian.

Mortimer missed the chance to close the gap on the top two when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Cookham Dean.

Ryan Farmer scored the goal for Mortimer midway through the first half at the Alfred Palmer Memorial Playing Fields.

Newbury remain fourth in the table following a 1-1 draw with AFC Aldermaston at Faraday Road. Kye Franklin got the goal for the home side.

In the only other Premier Division fixture, Hurst climbed up to ninth place in the table after a 2-1 home victory against Unity.

Westwood United remain the unbeaten leaders in Division One after a 4-1 win against Frilsham & Yattendon at Cotswold Sports Club.

Marcus Guest scored a consolation goal to salvage some pride for the losing team.

Mortimer Reserves held onto second position with a 1-1 draw away at Reading YMCA Rapids. Luke Flory got the goal in the 88th minute.

Nathan Lishman starred with a four-goal haul as Maidenhead Magpies thrashed Cookham Dean Reserves 6-0. Karl Small was also on the scoresheet.

However, they were outdone by Winnersh Rangers who put eight goals past Highmoor U21 in a match that also saw three players sent off.

Jame Broadley scored four goals with Adam Kingsbeer, Shane Maskell and substitute Mark Kilbane all also hitting the back of the net.

Winnersh had Hayden Best sent off for two bookable offences, whilst Levi Lawrence and Ryan Lawrence of Highmoor both received a straight red card.

In Division Two, Westwood United Reserves held onto top spot after a 2-0 win away at FC Imaan Lions. Roger Humphreys and Peter Rowell got the goals.

Marlow United Reserves remain in second place following the 5-0 thrashing of Goring United. Neil Austin and Andrew Nichol scored two apiece.
